Receiving my Endowment

Oh blog, it's been too long.

Just over two weeks ago I had the amazing experience of being able to receive my endowment in the Portland Oregon temple. And BOY was that a remarkable experience! Yes, it was very freighting, overwhelming and baffling, but that is yet another reason why it is essential to return to the house of the Lord! As I have done other sessions, things have become clearer to me and I am able to understand more fully what the Lord has in store for me.

I was very blessed with an awesome experience when I received my endowment. As I walked into the Celestial room, I was greeted by the Temple President, who NEVER comes to the Celestial room. He was looking for ME... me. What?! After his wife had given me the low down on the Temple, she went and told him about the 'future missionary receiving her endowment today.' He came to ask me to be a Temple worker(little did he know I was already called as one), and after Terry Wilder, our stake president, walked into the room he asked him to have my papers on his desk asap. Wow. I feel so blessed and honored to receive this calling! Although I will have to leave at 5am Wednesday mornings and 4am Friday mornings, I know I will receive SO many blessings for sacrificing my time and sleep. I love the Temple, I loved receiving my endowment, and I love this Gospel!!!

"Attend the temple. You will be blessed for so doing. Every man or woman who goes into the house of the Lord leaves there a better man or woman than he or she was when he or she entered the house of the Lord. The house of the Lord will have a refining effect upon you. It will cultivate unselfishness within your lives. It will build righteousness. It will impress upon you the importance of doing what you ought to do. Go to the house of the Lord."

Temple excitement!

4 days. Tomorrow will be 3 days. Until what you ask? Until I go to the Portland Temple to receive my endowments. In my Temple Prep class this past Sunday, Brother Kirby said "Receiving your endowments is more important that your mission." At first this startled me, but then I realized how significant your endowments are, and how essential they are in the plan of salvation.
In my Temple interview, my bishop said that I am one of the most spiritually prepared members he's ever interviewed. And because of that, I was informed that I am going to be called as a Temple Worker. I am soooo beyond excited! I am so blessed to be able to go to the Temple so often, both in Portland and in Salt Lake while on my mission at Temple Square. I love this church and I love the Temple!

My home temple! Portland temple. My sister took this awesome photo of my brother and his wife on their wedding day!!

Mission Clothes

I have been asked by a few fellow future sister missionaries to post pictures of my mission outfits! And I thought... why not share it with the world? So this is a shameless fashion post.

Please ignore my lion mane I call my hair... it has a mind of it's own after I blow dry it.

This dress is one of my favorites! It will go with evvverrrythingggg. Add a sweater, bang! Add a pea coat, bang! Add a statement necklace, buh-bang!! I got it from asos.com ONLY MY FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP!

This skirt is fabulous, it is such a beautiful color and sooo comfortable! It is from the one and only asos.com The argyle sweater I've had for like 7 or 8 years... but nonetheless it's from forever21.com

Now for my favorite outfit!!!!
This peplum top is tremendous. I think I've worn it 3 times since I got it last week... it's from Tarrrgettt. I love that place. This skirt is also from Target! It's a pencil skirt that I got a size up so it wouldn't be too tight. Love it!!

I am still 84 days away, so I've got a lot more shopping to do!
What I plan to get:
- Blazers
- Pea Coats
- Stripes, stripes and more stripes!
- Peter pan collar shirts
- Shoes... the dreaded shoes.
- Boots!
- Everything.
